Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. After boating up the Vaal River from Douglas all the way to Schmidtsdrift in the Northern Cape of South Africa, we reached a part of the river where it was too shallow for us to continue. We camped out and were treated to a beautiful morning with dramatic shadows cast along the riverbanks and I set up my easel on the boat to paint en plein air.
