Artist's Description
I was driving to Clarens when I saw this rock formation. I had to paint it. I wanted to get a viewpoint where the road was winding through the mountains and clouds were interesting. I used a different approach this time, since i am always experimenting, and tried putting several hues of paint directly from the tube onto the panel and then mixing them for gradations using a bristle brush. This was all done with Golden Open Acrylics on a panel I had brushed Open Retarder over. Not recommending this approach just yet, but having fun playing
